Dee DeLoy

Dee DeLoy graduated magna cum laude from the University of Central Florida in 1978 with a BFA degree in graphic design.
While working on his degree, Dee obtained a position as a caricature artist, which he held for 6 years with Walt Disney World. In 1980 he started Newstart Art to bring creative illustration to the corporate and advertising marketplace.
 
He would later join WED Show Production, an innovative division of Disney that allowed him to hone his skills in painting and modeling on sets for EPCOT and Tokyo Disneyland.
 
In the mid 80s Mr. DeLoy returned to the illustration field, experimenting with a new medium, 3-D paper sculpture. This would propel him into the dimensional illustration realm, and add this unique skill to his variety of techniques. He has captured both national and international awards for his work in paper sculpture and illustration.
 
Deeís subjects range from the serious to the humorous for both personal commissions and national advertising campaigns. He executes his work in airbrush, pen and ink, scratch board, watercolors, oils and gouache. Excited about recent advances in computer hardware and software, he has begun to apply his talent to electronic media, employing programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator and Painter. His experience has proven invaluable in teaching college level illustration classes and consulting with Fortune 500 corporations. He continues to do caricaturing work for conventions including five years with the American Banking Associationís Bankcard Convention. His residence and studio are in Orlando, Florida.
